The governmental program 500+ positively influenced the professional activity of Poles, mainly women, Gazeta Prawna newspaper reported citing results of Central Statistical Office (GUS) survey. GUS asked 300,000 people how 500+ impacted their professional life. 76,000 admitted that thanks to the program they started work, and another 75,000 began searching. On the other hand, only 33,000 resigned and 34,000 stopped looking for a job.
The results are contradictory to all researches published so far that disclosed the negative impact of the program on the job market. The Ministry of Labor argues that additional money may help in the organization of childcare, which is sometimes costly and discourages people from employment.
