Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Janusz Piechociński and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz among the guests of Baltic Business Forum 2015. The conference will be held in Świnoujście on 21-23 September 2015.
Discussions on economic cooperation in the region between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Sea will open this year’s Baltic Business Forum. Some of the announced participants are, among others, the former President Aleksander Kwaśniewski and the former Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak, as well as the presidents and managers of major Polish companies: Bank PKO BP, Gaz-System and PGE. “We are broadening the concept of the Baltic Business Forum by including the Balkan countries and the Black Sea republics”, says Jacek Piechota, the president of the Association of the Baltic Business Forum. “This is a response to the expectations of Polish entrepreneurs who wish to seek business opportunities in new markets”, he explains.
A political and economic discussion is an introduction to a series of practical panels. The part that promises to be especially interesting is a session on Georgia which is the guest of honor during this year’s Baltic Business Forum. “What are the conditions for the development of Polish investments in the Georgian market? Which sectors will grow the fastest? What is the legal environment for business operation there?” – these questions will be addressed by the representatives of the government in Tbilisi headed by the Deputy Minister of Energy Ilia Eloshvili and the president of the Georgian Investment Agency Giorgi Pertaia.
The guest list also includes business practitioners. “This year’s sessions will be based largely on an analysis of case studies”, says Jacek Piechota, the former Minister of Economy. The program includes, for example, a panel for exporters and importers on reducing the currency risk, a session on the sources of start-up financing or the application of new technologies in companies. A lot of attention is also paid to energy, transport and tourism. On the third day, a debate on the impact of migration to the labor market in Poland and Central Europe will be inaugurated by the speech of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
