ARP data: mines extracted 5.1 mln tonnes of coal, sold 5.2 mln tonnes in July

In July this year, for the first time in six months, the monthly sale of coal was higher than the monthly volume of extraction. Mines extracted about 5.1 million metric tonnes of coal, and sales amounted to 5.2 million tonnes, according to data from the Katowice branch of the Industrial Development Agency (ARP).

In total, in the first half of this year, mines extracted almost 31.9 million tonnes of coal, compared to 32.8 million tonnes by mid-2017 (a decline of over 900,000 tonnes), and the volume of sales approached 31.3 million tonnes, compared to almost 33.4 million tonnes in the first half of 2017.
