Banks lending volumes rise 8.8% y/y in February

Polish banks granted PLN 19.4 billion in new loans in February, up by 8.1 percent y/y, data from the central bank NBP showed.

In February 2018, banks granted housing loans worth PLN 4.07 billion compared to PLN 3.31 billion in January. The average interest rate on real estate loans remains stable since October, at 4.4 percent.

Consumer loans grew by 5.5 percent y/y to PLN 5.25 billion. While loans corporate loans amounted to PLN 8.11 billion, a 7.7 percent y/y growth.

The average interest rate of consumer loan was 7.7 percent, the same as in January.
