Base inflation at 0.6% in April – NBP

Base inflation (excluding the prices of food and energy) amounted to 0.6 percent y/y in April, compared to 0.7 percent in March, NBP stated. The pace of fuel prices increase was the strongest over the past year, increasing by 3.5 pp to 1.4 percent y/y, while food prices growth was one of the highest at 4.1 percent y/y (up by 0.4 pp). Prices for services recorded the slowest increase, of 0.3 pp to 1.6 percent y/y.
