Poland is ready to adapt the euro, but has no reason to do it now, Marek Belka, the head of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) told The Times.

“I think that Poland is quite well-prepared to enter the euro zone and we would do quite well there – better than most of the countries that are already in the currency union – but have no reasons to go there now,” Belka pointed out, explaining that Poland should not enter “the club which is still having problems.”

Belka’s term ends in mid-2016. The new NBP head will be appointed by president Andrzej Duda.
