The welfare indicator, which reflects the economic standing of the Polish society, has increased in January by 0.6 points compared to the December reading, the Bureau for Investment and Economic Cycles (BIEC) stated. “The growth was mainly due to the remarkably high dynamics of average wages in the enterprise sector. At the end of last year, their annual growth rate was over 7 percent, and after removing the impact of inflation it was an increase of nearly 5 percent,” BIEC said but added that such high growth was mostly caused by year-end bonuses.
