Supermarket chain Biedronka is planning to install parcel machines in around 300 stores throughout Poland, parent company Jeronimo Martins Polska has reported.
As reported in daily Rzeczpospolita, Biedronka will make space available in its stores for the construction of a network of SwipBox e-shopping vending machines. The first device will be installed on Wednesday in one of the Katowice branches and marks the beginning of a nationwide SwipBox expansion in Poland. Ultimately, the machines could be placed in a total of 2,000 locations.
Biedronka is the largest retail network in Poland. At the end of March this year. the Biedronka chain had 2,825 branches with a total area of 1.86 million sqm.
SwipBox is a Danish company, founded in 2012, offering solutions to international logistics companies and retailers via self-service parcel lockers and software solutions.
