Jeremy Hunt new UK Foreign Secretary as Boris Johnson resigns

Jeremy Hunt has been named the new British Foreign Secretary after Boris Johnson resigned from his post, Downing Street has confirmed. Johnson is the next high-profile minister to leave Prime Minister Theresa May’s government following the resignation of the Brexit Secretary David Davis.

Boris Johnson was one of the leading supporters of Brexit in May’s government and the leader of the campaign for leaving the European Union during the referendum in June 2016.

On Sunday, David Davis, Brexit Secretary, resigned from his position after accusing the government of making excessive concessions to Brussels in the Brexit negotiations.
