Catalan government tightens rules for Uber

The Catalan government agreed to change the regulations for ride-hailing services like Uber or Cabify in response to the demands of striking taxi drivers. The minimum time between order and start of the course was extended to 60 minutes from initial 15 minutes.

“I think we should accept this offer. We take it or we do not gain anything,” Alberto Alvarez from the committee of striking taxi drivers said.

Uber and Cabify said on Wednesday they may withdraw from Catalonia region due to tighter rules.
