Vectra bids for 33% in Netia

Cable TV operator Vectra has announced a tender offer for 114.81 million shares, standing for a 33 percent stake in Poland’s second largest telecommunications firm Netia, the offer’s manager UniCredit CAIB Poland announced on Wednesday. The offered price is PLN 5.31 apiece.

Amica bids for Spanish Fagor

Polish household goods producer Amica has submitted an offer to buy the assets of bankrupt Spanish market peer Fagor Electrodomésticos Soc. Cooperativa, according to the company’s press release quoted by ISBnews.

Martin Schulz remains head of EP

Martin Schulz was re-elected president of the European Parliament by MEPs on Tuesday. He will serve another two-and-a-half year term, a press release from the EP said. He won by 409 votes out of 612.

PMI inches down to 50.3

Poland’s Manufacturing PMI is reflecting stagnation, with a reading of only 50.3 points in June compared to 50.8 points in May, according to a press release from HSBC and Markit Economics.

Kulczyk again tops richest Poles list

Jan Kulczyk maintained the first position in the annual ranking of the 100 richest Poles published by weekly Wprost . His assets are valued at PLN 13.1 billion. They include real estate and energy assets, as well as recently acquired chemical firm Ciech.
