Developer Immobel Poland will soon finish the construction work on the underground section of the CEDET office and retail project in downtown Warsaw. Work on the above-ground floors of the scheme will commence in January, with the development scheduled for completion in October next year. The CEDET investment involves the remodeling and expansion of a post-war modernist building that previously housed one of the Polish capital’s best-known department stores. “Our goal is to restore the building to its former glory,” said Bartłomiej Hofman, the CEO at Immobel Poland. The project, which was designed by the AMC-Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky architectural studios and was BREEAM-certified at the ‘Excellent’ level during the design phase, envisions the development of a total of 23,000 sqm of office and retail space, with JLL acting as the exclusive leasing agent. The retail area in the scheme – a total of 7,000 sqm located on levels -1, 0 and +1 – has already been 90 percent commercialized. Immobel and JLL are now in advanced talks with potential tenants interested in leasing space in the office section of the development.
