“The board of Ciech S. A. informs, that it is not interested in FMC and do not bid for buying the company,” accoridng to the firm’s statement.
Poland’s Ciech is interested in acquiring FMC soda-ash business, Bloomberg reported citing anonymous sources.
American company is waiting for the final offers to be handed by the end of the week. The list of the potential bidders also includes Advent International, Compass Minerals International and Bain Capital Partners.
According to Bloomberg, the transaction may be worth PLN 5.64 billion ($1.5 billion).
WSE-listed Ciech and other firms mentioned by Bloomberg declined to comment on this matter.
The Ciech Chemical Group comprises nine companies. It recorded a net profit of over PLN 39 million in 2013.
