A Lufthansa Embraer ERJ-195 traveling from Munich to Warsaw was at 800 meters and three minutes to landing when its pilots saw a drone within 100 meters of the plane, Polish broadcaster Radio Zet informed. Air traffic controllers and police were informed of the incident.
Following the incident, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (Polska Agencja Żeglugi Powietrzna – PAŻP) decided to change the descent route to the airport. The PAŻP later restored the normal traffic pattern.
The police patrol that arrived on the site didn’t manage to find a culprit.
The law prohibits flying a drone on Warsaw’s left-bank without PAŻP’s permission.
