EU grants financing for Baltic Pipe preparation stage

Polish and Danish gas operators signed an agreement on Thursday in Copenhagen with EU agency for innovation and grids for the co-financing of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline. The maximum amount of EU financing available is €33.1 million, Gaz-System informed.

The funds come from the Connecting Europe Facility – CEF and will cover the financing of the preparatory work until necessary construction permits are obtained in Poland and in Denmark by Gaz-System and Energinet.

“Baltic Pipe is a project that will allow us diversify not only the directions, but also the sources of the blue fuel delivery,” said Gaz-System CEO Tomasz Stępień.
