Organization of first communion ceremonies will cost Polish families PLN 400 million and an additional PLN 450 million will be spent by event participants, according to loan company Provident Polska.
The company points that Poles’ customs have changed over the past few years. While previously the majority of them preferred to celebrate with family at home eating traditional meals, currently people tend to organize the first communion parties at restaurants.
In 2015, parents will spend PLN 1,500 for a ceremony on average, three times more than for Christmas celebrations in 2014. Invited guests are expected to contribute PLN 310 on average, but those who earn more than PLN 5,000 will spend PLN 594. Apart from the price of a gift, revelers need to take into account the cost of logistics.
