Rafał Trzaskowski the European Parliament deputy and deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed in Brussels that first refugees will arrive in Poland next year.

Trzaskowski reported that “the European Union agreed on dividing 120,000 refugees, however we decided on taking 66,000 refugees, of which Poland will receive around 5,000 people. This number will be further decrease when countries, which do not participate in this programme, like Switzerland, Norway or Ireland, announce their willingness to take refugees.” He estimated that Poland will welcome around 4,500 refugees. Moreover, Trzaskowski added that next year the other 54,000 refugees, which have not yet been relocated from Hungary, will be divided among willing countries.
