The Central Statistics Office GUS has confirmed its previous estimate for 2017 GDP growth at 4.6 percent. Moreover, it revised the Q4 growth to 4.9 percent compared with the initial 5.1 percent growth projection.
GUS also verified GDP growth data for Q1 to 4.4 percent (compared to 4.1 percent previously) and for Q3 to 5.2 percent (4.9 percent previously).
Additionally, GUS revised data on investment growth in Q4 2017 to 5.4 percent y/y from the previous 11.3 percent estimate. “The decline resulted in lower expenditures from general government units (including mainly local government expenditures) and lower spending on defense,” GUS explained.
