GUS: Huge trade surplus

In January-July, Poland’s foreign trade surplus reached PLN 8.07 billion, compared with a deficit of PLN 6.18 billion in the corresponding period last year, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.

“We have to keep in mind that we import many raw materials in US dollars. As a consequence, the lower prices of raw materials impact the trade balance. But, of this I am sure, we are dealing with a stable phenomena of trade surplus,” Janusz Piechociński, the Minister of the Economy commented concerning the recent data.
