The volume of retail sales in Poland rose by o.1 year-on-year in January, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS) . In month-on-month terms, retail trade recorded a seasonal decline of 22.6 percent.
When calculated in real terms (constant prices) retail sales grew by 3.3 percent y/y, GUS also said.
Economists surveyed by the Polish Press Agency proposed a wide range of predicted estimates. They expected retail trade to either decline by a maximum of 2.1 percent or to grow by a maximum of 3.6 percent y/y.
