A group of Harry Potter fans is seeking to raise $1 million dollars to buy a 13th-century castle in southwestern Poland and turn it into a real-life Hogwarts, curbed.com portal informed.
Last November, Poland’s Czocha Castle was the scene of a gathering of 180 costumed Harry Potter fans who roamed its grounds pretending to be witches and wizards for a whole weekend, an activity called “live action role play” (LARP).
Curbed. com said that the event was so successful that the organizers have already sold out two more “College of Wizardry” events for this year. And now, they’ve launched a “live action role play” (LARP) IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign so they can buy their own castle and set up a permanent school of sorcery.
The team has already managed to raise $25,182 of the $1 million needed with 57 days to go.
