Retailer IKEA will open its store in the Blue City shopping center in Warsaw in the second half of this year. This will be the company’s third store in the Polish capital and the first one in a central location with the other two located on the outskirts of the city. The tenant will occupy a total of approximately 4,800 sqm of space on the ground and first floors of the mall and will represent a new smaller format. IKEA was previously planning to open a store in Warsaw’s Fort Wola shopping center, but due to prolonged administrative procedures the company has decided to put the project on hold, said Katarzyna Balashov, a spokesperson for IKEA in Poland.
