The contract for construction of the shortest part of Warsaw’s metro line 2 was signed on Thursday, Under the contract, 2.5 km of tunnels, tunnel ventilation room, and two stations Ulrychów and Powstańców Śląskich will be built. The contract value is over PLN 959 million, for both stations and connecting tunnels, building permits have already been issued.
The works will be executed by a consortium of companies including Gülermak Ağir Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt A.Ş. and Astaldi S.p.A.and should be completed within 36 months. The entire line 2 is scheduled for completion before 2023. Currently, Warsaw citizens can use its central part, which was launched in March 2015.
