In recent years, Polish airline LOT has gone through a process of reorganization. It has relied heavily on identifying an appropriate strategic investor. The US investment fund Indigo partners was willing to invest, however they backed out in August due to the political situation in Poland with the approaching elections.
The Minister for State Treasury Andrzej Czerwiński said that “the best privatization model is one which would stabilize the LOT brand. The logo which has been well established for many years has its value.”
He explained that it should also be an investor who will willing to locate LOT headquarters in Warsaw and turn the Warsaw Okęcie airport into an international hub from which planes will transport passengers to various international destinations.
