The growth of Polish GDP in the long-term scenario, ending in 2070, will be heading towards 1.7 percent according to results from the calculations of the Ministry of Finance.
According to the EC, the real increase in Polish GDP in the scenario ending in 2070 will reach 1 percent, while from the calculations of the Ministry of Finance – prepared according to the same methodology – it appears that it will approach 1.7 percent.
Finance minister Teresa Czerwińska explained why the MF’s long-term forecast is more optimistic. She admitted that such long-term forecasts are subject to error and are corrected on a regular basis every few years. In her opinion, however, they are necessary to build long-term plans, e.g. by local governments or Social Insurance Institutions.
