Milik becomes most expensive Polish player

Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik has signed a five-year contract worth €35 million with Italy’s Napoli, becoming the most expensive player in the history of Polish football.

“It’s an honour I will become a part of Napoli with its amazing fans full of passion, a great club with a glorious history. I want to make these fantastic Napoli fans happy,” he said on the Facebook page of F-MG media.

Milik has moved to Napoli from Ajax Amsterdam, he will replace Gonzalo Higuain who was signed by Juventus this summer.

According to transfermarkt.com, the most expensive Polish player is Robert Lewandowski valued at €75 million. When he joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, his value was estimated at €50 million.
