Minimum wage to increase to PLN 2,080 – labor ministry

Poland’s ministry of labor wants to increase the minimum wage in Poland to PLN 2,080 per month from the current PLN 2,000. The minimum hourly wage will increase by PLN 0.50 to PLN 13.50, according to the statement posted after the cabinet meeting.

According to the government, the wage hike will not affect the labor market in a negative way. “Current economic situation in Poland allows for a sustainable increase in the minimum wage, which is consistent with economic growth and rise in productivity as well as dropping unemployment,” the statement said.
