The supply of modern retail space in Poland exceeds 11.77 million sqm, with 540,000 million sqm under construction, according to the latest CBRE report entitled “Commercial market in Poland in the first half of 2018”.
Modern retail space in Poland is concentrated in shopping centers, retail parks, outlet centers and mixed-use projects. CBRE states that the purchasing capital of Poland is Warsaw, in which 37 commercial facilities operate. Next is Poznań with 20 malls and Gdańsk with 19. However, smaller cities are the most saturated shopping centers. The list of “Top 10 cities with the largest amount of retail space per 1,000 inhabitants” is topped by Zgorzelec, Opole and Rzeszów.
