Mateusz Morawiecki has been designated by President Andrzej Duda as Poland’s new Prime Minister. He replaces Beata Szydło who resigned from her post.

“It is a great honor for me, this program that we implemented together will continue to a signpost for me,” Morawiecki said during the designation.

His vote of confidence is scheduled for Tuesday, and he is expected to announce the new cabinet “soon.” According to media speculations, Szydło could remain in the government as a deputy PM in charge of social issues.
