While interest rates should remain unchanged this year, there is a possibility of a hike in 2019, Central Bank’s (NBP) head Adam Glapiński said. “If they are raised in the future it will mean that there is a certain reason for this, such as rapid wage growth or prices will grow due to a specific reason such as a significant increase in oil prices. Internal factors should not be a reason to raise interest rates anytime soon,” Glapiński explained.
In March 2015, the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) lowered interest rates by 0.5 basis points. Since then, they have remained unchanged.
