NBP: Immigrants from Ukraine to reach 1.2 million at end-2017

The number of immigrants from the Ukraine in Poland will reach 1.2 million at the end of 2017, according to the Central Bank NBP’s forecasts. In the coming years, that figure should increase by 0.2-0.3 million people per annum.

“At the end of this year, the number of immigrants from Ukraine may amount to about 1.2 million people – about 4 percent of the total workforce. Not all of them will work all year long, so to compare it with the efficiency of the Polish labor supply, this should be multiplied by 7/12,” said Jacek Kotłowski, deputy director of the Department of Economic Analysis of the NBP.
