American provider of on-demand internet streaming media Netflix has launched the Polish version of its service and has begun dubbing and subtitling its catalog into Polish, the company announced on Tuesday.
Netflix said that 80 percent of the content on its Polish service will be dubbed or subtitled.
“We always knew the Polish people had a big appetite for great entertainment,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings in a statement. “Now we know it and we’re delighted to offer a more localized Netflix experience in Poland that will continue to grow with great TV shows and movies from here as well as around the world.”
The move is part of a broader strategy to gain international market share.
Netflix launched in Poland on January 6, the offer for Polish viewers starts from €7.99 (roughly PLN 35).
