The number of companies that will go bankrupt in 2016 will decrease from 737 to 600-650, the Export Credit Insurance Corporation (KUKE) forecasts.
“The year 2016 saw the introduction of the law on restructuring as well as the amendment of the bankruptcy law, as a result of which priority is given to rehabilitation (“sanacja”) of enterprises. This has resulted in a reduction in the number of bankruptcies. It is worth noting, however, that last month broke the nine-month winning streak of reduction of bankruptcies,” KUKE stated in its forecast.
The total number of enterprises which went bankrupt and which underwent rehabilitation in the last 12 months until September was 761. In the corresponding period last year, the number of bankruptcies alone was 759, according to KUKE.
