The number of e-stores rose by more than 6.1 percent y/y in 2018, Rzeczpospolita newspaper reported citing Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) data. The total turnover of online stores stood at over PLN 50 billion, showing a double-digit growth versus 2017.
Sunday trade ban positively impacted growth of e-stores, Tomasz Starzyk, a spokesperson of consulting firm Bisnode Polska said. This year the impact may be even stronger as only one trading Sunday per month is left. Starzyk added that customers of online stores appreciate convenient search, quick payments, and free returns.
