Developer Panattoni Europe has finished construction work on an over 161,500-sqm logistics center project at Kołbaskowo near Szczecin in north-western Poland, which will be used by e-commerce company Amazon. This is the fourth built-to-suit scheme to have been completed by Panattoni Europe for this client. The Kołbaskowo development, which is expected to be BREEAM-certified at the “Very Good” level, features three stories and is equipped with Amazon Robotics technology with more than 3,000 robots working in the location.
“This investment is a prime example of the latest industry trends – the development of multi-story warehouse space to be used by e-commerce businesses on a large scale. By going beyond the standard height, the space offered by the facility – now expressed in cubic meters – can be used in the optimal manner. With the inevitable growth of online shopping, such solutions are bound to become increasingly popular and will eventually become the standard,” said Marek Dobrzycki, the managing director at Panattoni Europe.
