Developer Panattoni Europe has launched construction work on a built-to-suit industrial project for the Danish insulation systems manufacturer Skamol A/S in Opole in south-western Poland. The 6,000-sqm scheme will be developed in the BTO (build-to-own) formula and will be located within the WSSE Invest Park special economic zone. Colliers International brokered the agreement between Panattoni and Skamol, with the development scheduled to be completed in April next year. The investor, who currently has a total of four production plants in Denmark and Russia, plans to launch production in the new location in November 2017.
According to Marek Foryński, the managing director of the BTS group at Panattoni Europe, Opole has a number of assets, including good transport connections with the other regions of Poland and easy access to a qualified labor force. “Many companies wishing to be close to our western border decide to locate their business in Opole, rather than in Wrocław, which according to many is a challenging location in terms of the access to human resources,” Foryński said.
