Poland’s largest utility PGE has signed a contract worth PLN 3.99 billion gross with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe, Budimex oraz Tecnicas Reunidas for the construction of a new unit in the Turów power plant, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The new unit will have net capacity of 450 MW. It will include a pulverised coal-fired boiler and will have CCS Ready status, the statement said.
Construction will begin after it is officially commissioned by PGE, which is obliged to do so no later that December 31, 2014. The construction process should be then completed within 56 months.
