PGNiG finishing shale test drills

PGNiG has started drilling for shale gas in the Pomeranian region, in Nowa Karczma municipality. The drilling will assess hydrocarbon potential in the shale bed. The planned depth of the drilling is 4100 meters. Drilling is to be done in a timespan of two months and conducted by a PGNiG daughter company, Exalo Drilling.

This is the thirteenth drilling done in Pomerania in an effort to assess deposits. Horizontal drilling and production should commence in 2015, according to ISBnews.

PGNiG is a Polish company, which has been noted on the WSE since 2005 and is involved in resource (mainly natural gas and petroleum) extraction, storage and distribution in Poland and abroad.
