Poland to buy EDF assets ‘within days’ – Tchórzewski

Poland should finalize the negotiations to buy Polish assets of French EDF in the next few days, energy minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski said. “ As far as I know, the talks are nearing the end,” he said.

Warsaw began talks with EDF in January over the sale of its Polish assets to the holding of three state-owned power utilities, PGE (which holds 60 percent stake in the endeavor), Enea and Energa (20 percent each).

EDF Polska owns four cogeneration plants in Kraków, Gdańsk, Gdynia and Toruń as well as several heating networks and plants.
