Poland will receive EUR 64.4 billion (fixed prices 2018) from the EU’s cohesion policy for 2021-2027, the European Commission has reported. At current prices, this amounts to EUR 72.76 billion.
The main elements of the Commission’s proposal to modernize cohesion policy are:
– most of the investments of the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund will be dedicated to innovation, support for small enterprises, digital technologies and modernization of industry,
– cohesion policy for all regions and a more individualized approach to regional development,
– fewer, clearer and shorter rules and a more flexible legal framework,
– strengthening the link between cohesion policy and the European Semester in order to create a business-friendly environment and economic growth, so that both EU and national investments can fully achieve their goals.
