Poland with second-highest rail passenger increase in Europe

The number of railroad passengers increased in Poland by 3.8 percent y/y in 2017, which is the second-best result in Europe, following Finland, where the growth amounted to 4.4 percent y/y. Spain came in third with a 3.5 percent increase in the number of passengers using railroad, Polish Rail Transport Office (UTK) informed. In Poland, 303.6 million passengers used rail last year.

The largest decreased were recorded in Macedonia (24.5 percent y/y), Croatia (5 percent y/y) and Slovenia (4.2 percent).
