Poles to spend 26% more on May weekend travel than two years ago

In 2018 Poles will spend 26 percent more on plane tickets for the May long weekend, compared to 2016, according to Kayak.pl. Two years ago the average spending was PLN 765, while this year the amount grew to PLN 960 per capita.

During the long May weekend, Polish citizens primarily visit European cities and sunny places in the south of Europe, Kayak.pl experts said.  Both this year, as well as a over the epast two years, Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon, and London were among the most popular destinations.

Last year, as many as four out of the ten most-preferred destinations were outside Europe. In 2018 only Bangkok and New York made the list.
