Polish exports increase 9.3% y/y

Exports from Poland in April 2018 increased by 9.3 percent y/y, and dropped by 4.6 percent in monthly terms, said the chief economist of the Polish Chamber of Commerce Piotr Soroczyński in an analysis prepared on the basis of economic data and opinions of members of the Polish Chamber of Commerce. He added that in May the volume of exports may be lower than in April.

“Currently available data on the condition of the real economy and opinions obtained from members of the Polish Chamber of Commerce allow us to estimate that exports in April 2018 amounted to EUR 17,289 million, thus decreasing in comparison to the values recorded for March by 4.6 percent, and in the last 12 months increased by 9.3 percent. In May, the volume of exports may turn out to be lower than in April,” the analysis found.
