It seems that the Russian embargo on Polish food products has had little effect on the overall growth of the country’s food exports, according to data from the Ministry of the Economy. Food exports amounted to 9.3 billion euro in the first five months of 2015, up by 6.6 percent year-to-year. Exports to the EU rose by nine percent.
Severely limited by Russia’s embargo of Polish meat and dairy products, exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States amounted to only 470 million euro, and registered a decline of 45 percent y/y. Regardless of these limitations, analysts believe that Polish food exports will continue to grow during the next months, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported.
