Public deficit lowest since 2007

Poland’s budget deficit stood at 3.2 percent of GDP in 2014, Puls Biznesu reported citing GUS’s estimates. It is the lowest amount since 2007, the daily pointed out.

On March 31, GUS sent to Eurostat a so called fiscal notification, according to which, the public deficit totaled 3.2 percent of Poland’s GDP in 2014, the daily informed.

Eurostat expected the rate to stand at 3.6 percent, and Poland’s finance minister, Mateusz Szczurek predicted is to reach 3.3 percent of GDP.

Official data will be published by Eurostat on April 21.
