Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that it has expelled “a number of Polish diplomats” in response to the earlier reported expulsion of Russian diplomats by Poland.
“There is a thing called symmetrical response in theses issues,” Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Grzegorz Schetyna told journalists on Monday. “This decision ends the story.”
Last week, daily Rzeczpospolita quoted sources in the Ministry of Defense as saying that a Russian embassy employee had been expelled on espionage grounds. Russia called the measure “inimical and unjustified.”
