Russia is tightening its embargo on Polish produce. Rosselkhoznadzor, the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary inspectorate has made a decision preventing the re-export of Polish produce.

An agency press release quoted by Polish Radio identifies produce that is reportedly coming from other EU countries and while crossing Polish territory is also mixed with Polish produce, which thus finds its way into Russia. Now all produce as well as seeds that travel through Poland will be banned from entry into the Russian Federation.

Russia’s answer to western sanctions has been an import embargo set into motion in August. The embargo includes a ban on fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry, fish, milk and dairy products originating from the USA, the EU, Australia, Canada and Norway.
