Security, trust, awareness – the three most important terms of the SecureTech Congress

 

II edition of the Congress dedicated to the topic of cybersecurity took place on 18-19 April 2018 at The Sheraton Warsaw Hotel. The event ran simultaneously with the VIII edition of the Big Data & AI Congress. Two days of substantive and inclusive panels brought more than 630 participants to both events.

SecureTech Congress started with hope and chances. The chance to solve problems, which we face every day. ‘Thanks only to open cooperation, we have the chance to greaten the line of defense against cyberattacks,’ said Dariusz Kacprzyk, Co-Chairman of the SecureTech Congress Advisory Board. However, the Guest of Honor of the Congress Justin Kolenbrander, Legal Attaché of the FBI in Warsaw showed how useful new technologies are for the special services.

The panels placed special interest on the exchange of thoughts and opinions regarding the cooperation of the public and private sector as well as the conditions of development in the light of new legal requirements. Experts debated how to secure yourself before attacks in cyberspace, data leaks, data handling and the right to forget. The experts included: Dariusz Kacprzyk, dr Mariusz Cholewa, Mirosław Burnejko, Akhil Handa, Diogo Fernandes, Paweł Jakubik, Krzysztof Bińkowski, Krzysztof Kryszyn, Juliusz Brzostek, Adam Haertle, Jolanta Malak.

At the end of the first day of the Congress, the Grand Gala – SecureTech & Big Data Night took place, during which awards were presented during the SecureTech Awards competition. Among the winners were companies: BIK, Microsoft, Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. i mBank.
