Polish Sejm approved the report on the implementation of the 2016 budget with 236 votes for and 204 against. According to the government’s report, last year’s GDP growth stood at 2.7 percent, while public finance sector deficit amounted to 2.4 percent of the GDP. The investments contracted by 7.9 percent.
The state budget deficit amounted to PLN 46.2 billion and was lower by PLN 8.6 billion than the planned one. Treasury debt at the end of 2016 amounted to PLN 928.7 billion (PLN 94.1 billion increase).
Revenues amounted to PLN 314.7 billion and were higher than the original budget assumptions by PLN 775 million, while expenditures were lower than the planned PLN 368.5 billion by PLN 7.7 billion.
