Financial regulator KNF has approved the candidature of Paweł Tamborski for the WSE chairman role. According to a KNF release, extraordinary measures have been taken to make sure that Tamborski meets the qualifications required by the Trading of Financial Instruments Act.

Tamborski comes to the Warsaw bourse from serving as an undersecretary at the Ministry of the Treasury, where he was responsible for numerous privatization transactions, including the successful merger of Polish fertilizer producers into Grupa Azoty. His candidature was decided upon by a board meeting of the WSE back on June 26 and awaited approval of the KNF.
